How long.

Good day. I would like to know how long does it take to publish your Ebook from Lulu to other Amazon and all the other sites. Just did the epub filing today and want to know the average time it takes? Also, do I wait for it to be publish there before I can gt the links to promote my work? How do I get the links to promote my work?

You have to search for your titles in Amazon, once you've found them you can activate an Author Page there. Make sure, though, that in any promotion you do, you link buyers to the Lulu shop. The distributors take a significant slice of your margin - you really want folk to buy through Lulu. If you use links, link to your Lulu page, not Amazon.

Listing it on Lulu as well as with the distributors wouldn't make much difference to any such perception. The bulk of Amazon content nowadays is self-published, I'd have thought, judging by the content matter and covers...

We authors whether we go the traditional or the self-published route, are in it together. I feel we should support each other in a world that is indifferent and possibly even increasingly openly hostile to books. Books are wonderful things and although now in my old age I have difficulty with the small print in some books) (I do resort to ebooks as I can make the font bigger) However, I can still buy the large print books.
How? In a way we are all in competition with each other, the same as any product. We do give advice of course, or we would not be here.

Can you explain that? Who is hostile to them? Year on year print book sales increase.

And, there are of course far more things to read nowadays, so it does not mean that people are not reading at all. But the stats I looked at say printed books started to make a comeback a few years ago, along with vinyl records.

Mind you, no-body buys it, so I've still got the marketing hurdle to get over, but hey, that's life in the big city

I've got close on a million words written over five years, with in some cases tens of thousands of readers - on a freebie website though - so the content was there anyway. Readers these days are quite content to read free content, but not willing to pay for it. C'est la vie.

Other times it is a stated fact. " No I don't read."
