Line across cover

My group and I received our proof copy with great excitement; it being the result of our first publishing experience ever! But something we noticed almost immediately is the thin gray line that runs across the middle of the front cover all the way around over the back.

Know how to order a copy without that?

Use Support. They will want you to email them photos of the problem, they will either refund you or have another printed for you.

But it is unusual, are you sure that line does not exist on the original? Print the artwork out on your own printer and take a look.

Okay. Another member of our group also ordered a copy (not the proof) and it also has the line. and I'm pretty sure it's not the cover image, I've looked at both cover photos and the spine many times and it's on all of them.

That really is strange, it sounds like a dirty printhead! It really should never happen, and even more so, not be noticed by the printer! Lulu will sort it out, but they don't work weekends and only office hours in the week.

Make sure it's not your cover image. Check in my projects and look at the cover pdf too. Send support a photo of both copies, they are usually good at replacing them if it's the printer's fault.
