Sharing an epub file and copyright protection

TansyTansy Reader

I want to share my eBook with a collegue, and I assume my only way to do this is to download the epub file and email it to them? However, if I do this, what is to stop them forwarding it to everyone they know or coping and pasting the content?

Is there another format I should send it in or a way to password protect it or remove the ability to copy and paste? Will this be an issue for everyone who purchases a copy of my eBook?

Sorry, I don't know much about eBook's, obviously :-)

There's not much you can do technically to prevent copying of electronic media, that's the reality of the digital world. Content gets stolen all the time, unfortunately, and very often you don't even know about it.

It sounds like you don't trust your colleague very much. Choose your friends wisely, I always say ;).
