I have already printed my book months ago and did not get an ISBN.Now I wish to obtain that;I have searched the LuLu site for help with this problem. Not a clue now how to obtain an ISBN at this point. Help!
You'll have to redo it as a new project then when I asked if you want the ISBN select yes. Copy the number to your copyright page in your doucment and upload that.
I had a look at your project.
From the My Project page, click Revise > Create a New Revision.
Choose Sell Everywhere as your distribution option.
On the next page choose the Free ISBN option.
When you save and continue, the ISBN and barcode will be displayed (and emailed to you).
Add the ISBN to the copyright page of your manuscript.
Upload the revised manuscript on the next step.
Proceed through the publishing wizard.
Thanks- one more question. If I let LuLu give a free ISBN does that mean I have to put the book out for distribution and sell?
You do have to select "Sell Everywhere" to get the ISBN option to display. Once published, you can change the project back to Private access. When or if you decide to sell the book, you can then change it back to General or Direct Access.
My option for everywhere is grayed out? is it because of the book size?
I have the same problem. Cannot publish the book as there is no option to generate the ISBN number. Any ideas why the publish everywhere option is greyed out?
Not all books can have that option. The ones with the tick in Create can.
I have click on create a new revision as you see the ISBN number above as you save & continue but when I click to continue the ISBN number above yes I can see it but it disappears and the page will not come up it passes it skips and takes you to the next Help why is it skipping and not showing the page for me.
Sorry, but I don't understand you, could you at least use some punctuation please?
Are you saying that if there is no tick in the create page, I am not allowed to add my own ISBN to my book. I am publishing an A4 sheet music collection.
It means that the option you have picked is not a book type that can have Lulu Distribution, that does not mean you cannot sell it direct from your Lulu Spotlight, or buy it yourself to sell. It also does not stop you adding your own ISBN to your Copyright Page or to the art work for the back cover.
