How to get the same number of text lines on each page

Hi! I am in the process of paging my book (for print, 6 x 9), and am working in the LuLu provided page template. I find that some pages, left and right, do not have the same number of text lines (that is, when looking left to right, across the bottoms of the page, the text lines are uneven). How do I correct this?

  • Check the pagination settings in the template.

By default, Word prevents the last line of a paragraph from appearing at the top of the next page. Word will therefore insert a page break above the last line so that the next page includes the last two lines of the paragraph. This could be the source of the problem.

    To deactivate this setting:

    1. Select the paragraphs in which you want to control widow and orphan.
    2. On the Format menu, click Paragraph, and then click the Line and Page Breaks tab.
    3. Deselect the Widow/Orphan control check box.
  • PERFECT!!! It was quick, easy, and ... it worked!

  • But why do you want the same number of lines of text on each page?
  • Personal preference....

  • I can't begin to thank you enough for this guidance...I've come back to it time and again...and I've shared it with others.
