font size trouble

Hi everyone!

I just uploaded my first project. The word(doc) file was converted into epub successfully and if I'm not mistaken the ebook is now live (at least on Lulu). I checked the output file using Sigil and it looked fine. But when I sideloaded it to my Ipad I found out that the text/font was huge and could not be resized.

Btw, I'm using Bluefire to read ebooks on my Ipad. 

Any idea what's wrong? Does this mean the file that will go to iBookstore and B&N will have fixed font size that can't be overriden by whatever reading device/app the reader will be using?
