eBook image won't upload

I've formatted my novel for conversion to ePub, but I can't successfully upload the marketing image that I want to use. I set it to the right dimensions, and it seems to upload the image - but when I go to click the Accept button, it won't process. The Cancel button works fine, but no matter how many times I click the Accept button, it won't work. I've tried it with several images, and always with the same result.

What to do???

Re: eBook image won't upload

Hi,

If the 'Accept' button is not working when you attempt to apply a marketing image, this is most likely caused by an incompatibility we are aware of with certain versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer.  We are working to address this incompatibility in a future site release, but in the meantime there is a work-around for this error.

Internet Explorer has a built-in compatibility mode that will fix this issue.  To turn on compatibility mode in your browser, follow the instructions presented on the following page:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/How-to-use-Compatibility-View-in-Internet-Explorer-9

Once you have turned on compatibility mode for your browser, you should be able to upload and apply your eBook cover image with no problem.  Make sure that the compatibility mode icon is high-lighted (active) when you are on the eBook marketing image step.

Or, like Ken said, just try a different browser. We recommend Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.

Hope this helps! :smileyhappy:

Re: eBook image won't upload

Hi jackarcalon,

I'm sorry to hear that you've been having trouble uploading your images. You may want to check and make sure all the files you are uploading are in an accepted format:

I would also recommend trying from a different browser or computer, if possible. If you are still unable to resolve the problem, the best thing you can do is contact support via live chat or email:

An agent will be able to access your project and take a look at the error you repoted. Thank you! :smileyhappy:

Re: eBook image won't upload

Hi Jack,

I too am having difficulties uploading both images and files.  It is not a problem with formatting because I have  uploaded many files and images to Lulu in the past, so I know what formats are accepted. This is a compatability problem I suspect either with  my browser or with Windows 7 . . . . I don't know.  I too am still trying to get answers.  I did discover that I can upload files via smart FTP which LuLu does provide a link fore and is an excellent tool.  They are offering afree 30 day trial at the moment, and never asked for my credit card.  http://www.smartftp.com/download  I love it and will probably buy it when the trial is out especially if these issues with the Lulu site do not get resolved before then.  I successfully uploaded  the same file the LuLu uploader would not accept  via this awesome little tool. The only problem is it will not help with creating a preview or uploading  images to your cover because those files cannot be chosen from LuLu Files. They have to be uploaded directly from the computer.  If I ever get a satisfactory answer from Customer Service regarding this issue, I will be sure to share it with you.  Hopefully you will do the same, if you discover  a solution first.  Thanks for your post.  At least I know  I am not the only one all of a sudden having these issues:smileyhappy:

Re: eBook image won't upload

Hey, Good News! Browser WAS the problem, for me at least, and hopefully  eill solve your difficulties too.  Was able to upload my preview using Google Chrome.  Be sure to  upload a PDF file though because originally I uploaded an rtf file and when I viewed it, it gave me the choice to "enable editing".  Yikes! Don't want just anyone editing my file.  However, uploading as PDF solved the problem and the file uploaded fine.  Hope your issues will be resolved with this simple fix as well!
