Re: Tutorial doesn't cover these questions or does it?

Yes, it does. By keeping topics on the appropriate board it is easier to find similar questions and for us to provide our efforts. No a PDF. On its own is not an eBook. The FAQs can be found in the Knowledge Base. There is no best software. It depends upon your knowledge, experience, expertise and perhaps your pocket. Microsoft Word is very popular. I personally use Adobe InDesign. You may find this tutorial provides the answers you want http://www.lulu.com/product/ebook/creating-your-book-with-microsoft-word---a-tutorial/16069616

My question is for a printed book, but really, does it make a difference?

This looked like the most logical place, as I don't see any particular forum for printed books.

This is the one forum thats not for printed books :smileyhappy:

If you go to home page > click Conncet from tabs at top of page then click Discuss (under the image of bees near the top of the page) you'll see the various forums laid out in a more logical way.

Basicxally you upload either a PDF of your text, or a wordprocessor file which Lulu turns into a PDF.

That PDF is what is printed  as a physical book or downloadeded as a PDF 'ebook'. if you decide to allow that.

You design and create a cover using the supplied wizards after you upload your text. (or you can design the entire cover yourself and upload it).

You are walked through the stages of production once you start.

Best of luck

Re: Tutorial doesn't cover these questions or does it?

I get confused. The poster is asking about PDFs for an epub, but says he cannot find help about printed books? How very odd.
