This is my first book cover design attempt on a book entitled ‘Bubble Value at Risk’, written by risk management expert Max C.Y. Wong.
An interesting ‘The Making Of’ page showing the very meticulous and pain staking effort involved in creating the book cover can be viewed here.
Hope
you guys like it. I welcome any questions, comments, compliments in
regards to this article or any book cover design collaborations. Enjoy! ![]()

Indeed, it's my 1st attempt in book design, though I've been in the creative buisiness for more than 16 years now. It's fun doing book design in my free time.
You have any upcoming projects?

Hi Puppy,
My upcoming projects involve making books for others now. I am currently working on TOT, which will be published on Lulu soon.
As for my own books, one day I will resume. I do things extremely, so when I start again I will make forty. ![]()
Look forward to seeing what you do with book #2!

I have the problem of fixing images to the cover, can you tell me you did yours?

Can you let me know precisely your problem?
For the main image manipulation, I used Adobe Photoshop. For the cover design, I used Adobe Illustrator for text, artwork and layout arrangment.

Can I suggest Photofiltrre? I say this because although it does not have all the filters of the big boys, it is still very powerful. But, more than this it has simplified one aspect of image creation and that is image merging. For most, including the expensive ones, there is a whole rigmaroll to go through when doing this, but Photofiltre immediately detects that you are merging images, and so when you load two images one after the other, you simply right click and copy the top layer, click in the bottom layer, click paste, but it gives you that selected but still free frame to work with, you simply maneouvre into position, then File-Save. Ok, there may be more that do this, but I know for sure many have one or two more selections to make to let the programme know you want to position then merge and save. This way is far smarter and simpler. HBH http://photofiltre.en.softonic.com/
