I wanted an EPUB, PDF and MOBI version of my ebook all at the same time; no where did it say that I could not do this with the one ISBN number I bought.  I found out after the fact that I need a different ISBN number for EACH ebook format.  Had there been a clear disclaimer at the Publish your ebook page, that EPUB and PDF of the same book need a different ISBN number, I would have stopped and bought a ten pack of ISBN numbers.  Now I don't know what to do.

Hi Doc_Research83 - There are multiple articles both in the forums and in the knowledge base that discuss this issue. The ISBN not only identifies the publisher, but it also identifies the books format (i.e. paperback, hardcover, eBook, etc.). On the bright side, if you are planning to publish your book for the Kindle, you will not be required to purchase an additional ISBN as Amazon uses their own identification number. Additionally, since PDF formats cannot be sold through retail distribution (i.e. Barnes & Noble, iBookstore, etc.) you do not need an ISBN to offer it on the marketplace site. So, it looks as if you are all set.
