Private Messaging option

Is Lulu going to offer the Private Messaging option again for members?  This was very useful and quite handy, and it ensured privacy when communicating with an author about his/her book ;-).

PM's are a common feature in pretty much any forum.  Of all the forums I've seen, this is the only place that doesn't have this common feature, which is rather strange.  Why this forum doesn't have this, I can only guess.  I'm in favor of this idea.  As a side note, PM's are usually less restrictive than regular posts, though spamming, offensive or illegal content, and often swear words are still disallowed.

Lulu used to offer it with the old platform.  Helpstream can't be that hopeless!   Er ... wait----nix that ;-).

Yes, there is a private messaging system, but it's harder to get to with the new forums. I have mine enabled through my Storefront (with a "send this user a message" link on it, not all users do) and since there's no longer an option to get to a user's Storefront by clicking on a user's name with Helpstrean (as it could be done with the old software), it makes it all the harder to find.

I think everyone should have access to the private messaging system (if you go to your My Lulu area and scroll down until you see the My Account heading in the left hand side menu, you should see an item that says Message Box - that takes you to the messaging system).

The trouble is then working out the username of the person to whom you want to send a message - for an author, it's commonly but not always their storefront name, which is why I put a "Send this user a message" on my storefront but not everyone does that (if you'd like to have a look at how I've done it, my storefront is http://stores.lulu.com/bdabooks).
