FAQs page

I think having the FAQs page set up as a dialogue is really frustrating and inefficient. The FAQs page should be a virtual list of questions with links to clearly written answers.

I have been trying to find out why the PDF of my book doesn't have page numbers on the bottom of the page, just as they appeared in my Word document before I converted it to a PDF. There is NOTHING about this on the site, and when I search for "adding page numbers to a PDF file" no matches come up.

I find this frustrating.

If page numbers are automatically generated in the printing process, that information should be somewhere on the site. If page numbers AREN'T automatically genrated during the printing process, I will find that out when I get my proof, and then what the hell am I supposed to do?

Hi cpdelo, thanks for your note, I think adding a new FAQ, or adding to an already existing one, notes about how we handle page numbers is certainly a good idea. Thanks for using Lulu!

You should post the particualr question in General Discussion so we can answer it there.

Just a note - as I agree questions need to be asked in the discussion part of the forum - but think about something - Lulu is a printer - they do not do your layout or formatting unless you pay for the service - so it should be an easy step to realize that if you don't put something into your files then it will not be in the printed version of your book. (With the exception of the printer mark/identifier/whatever it is callaed on the last page of the book)

As for why your page numbers didn't convert to the pdf - you need to refer to your program settings - sorry but it is NOT Lulu's place to train you to use a particular program and settings will be different for the myriad of programs that are available.

One other note - if you click on the lnk to the knowledge base - those are not dialogues (unlike the forums) Those are questions and answers - similiar to what you are referring to in your post.

Indeed. Lulu staff also use Blogs full of How-Tos and a lot of the old Help pages are still around. Help search can be annoying though because it will not find Help subjects you know exist!
