Characters with accents on the browser title

Hi there

I have a non-English name: João.

As an author I am, I feel a bit unconfortable when I see my name on the title of the browser incorrectly spelled.

Please, solve this issue on the next update. (add the letter 'a' with tilde)

Jo

Thank you

Hi Joao Your name appears correctly on the browser tab in both Firefox and Chrome. Please have a look in your preferred browser and let us know if this is resolved to your satisfaction.

Is that not a web address?

No it is not. It is the title of the web page, a different thing... it is contained in the HTML metadata.

That's about all I know of it, except there are "charcater set encodings" and such which are also specified in the HTML metadata, which allow mappings of all sorts of characters... I'm sure the Lulu coders know what to do...

@Kevin: Look to the picture. There is the webadress, but the error apears in the title of the window. 40 years ago, everyone used ASCI, an american standard with 255 signs (a and A are two signs). For foreign languages you had to use other irtual keyboards on your PC (and another one for your Mac). Today's standard is Unicode with 1 114 112 signs (chinese, japanese, tamil, tagalog, diacrits, ......).

Your browser understand both, but the homepage has to tell him in witch 'language' or standard it is written. Best would be Unicode, because good for you in Britain (or the States) and also good for João in Portugal or Ebɔ́bɛlɛ Ngubú in the Congo.

Unfortunately this problem apears sometimes to non English Internet users and it is annoying if it is in a bookshop (as Lulu) who sells books in portugese, german or lingála.

Is it not controlled by Windows and the fonts you have within it?
