Help, I can't make a print-ready file! [ Edited ]

Hi everyone,

This is my first post, so I hope it's in the right place. I'm trying to convert a .doc I've uploaded into a print-ready file, but the loader gets stuck at 5%. I uploaded a draft before and it made the print-ready file instantly, but now that I've done some editing, I can't get a print-ready file for the good version.

I've tried logging out, deleting the .doc and uploading it from my computer again, restarting my computer, and using two different browsers (Firefox and IE). I even tried using a different computer. Nothing seems to help. The converting bar just goes right up to 5% really quickly and then stops. It's been that way for an hour at the moment.

Is this normal? Is there anything I can do?

*Edit* I also tried renaming the file and uploading it with the new name. I don't think the file is corrupt.

Sometimes the tool just gets stuck. The last but one I did, I got so fed up of waiting I went to bed! Next day it had finished! Perhaps that's why it asks you if you want to sit and wait or be emailed when it's sorted?

Any ideas why it gets stuck at the same place (5%) for every file I try, on both computers?

Because of this, I can't help but wonder whether it's to do with file authorship, as the first document I tried to upload I made on a university computer, and this time I'm using my own netbook and a laptop that I've borrowed. I wish I knew how to find out if it's a problem like that.

I've changed everything I can think of. I can't do any more work until the file is made print-ready, and it will be days before I can use another computer.

This is so incredibly frustrating. I'm about to just give up.

It's possibly to do with internet speeds and times of day, but others have had the same problem as well, so I expect it's Lulu messing around. They turned the site off a few days ago for a few hours.

Thanks. That gives me some clue as to whether it's a problem with me or Lulu.

As inconvenient as it is (this is my last day off for a long time, and I set it aside just to print my book), I might delete everything and come back when I can.

I left it all afternoon and overnight. The uploader has now just got an error and says to seek assistance. There is nothing specific about the error. I don't know if the problem is on my end or Lulu's and I don't know how to find out.

All I can suggest is you delete that Project and start again. The files you used should already be in your My Files folder, but if you had an ISBN then you will need a new one and it will have to be added to your pages file and reuploaded.
