Re: First time publisher with basic queries

Hey thanks for the links.

I am not sure if I should write something differently so that you understand. Anyways, I guess I need to figure it out myself. I have gone through all the links and Lulu help but I do not know which book size to get. This is because, I dont know what size names what. SO, no idea, absolutely!!

Thanks for trying...

Re: First time publisher with basic queries

I'm Dutch, maybe that's why I don't understand :-D

But I don't know guys like Grasim, Sheldon...

What I did for my book was: take an existing one I liked, measure it, then look in Lulu's list to find a size matching those measures or close enough.

From the list you can already see that 6x9" is a common format, so if you want "a size larger than that", you could choose 6.625 x 10.25", or 7.44 x 9.68" which is a bit more squarish.

If you saw only size names and no measurements, maybe you just didn't scroll down the page from that first link?

Can I order the book from India?

Hi, Once I publish the book in Lulu, can I order the book from India? What I mean to say is if I give the link to the book in Lulu, can anyone order it and get it shipped to India, or any part of the world, for that matter?

My whole Idea for this book is to present to my parents, since this is my first book and I want to keep a copy with myself. Can I order two copies and get it delivered to India?

If not, is there anything that I need to do extra to get that done?

Re: Can I order the book from India?

You can buy books from Lulu and have them shipped to almost any destination in the World.

Be careful which shipping option you choose as some of the options can take several weeks from shipping to arriving.
For the fastest and most guaranteed delivery go for the highest cost.

Shipping and Charges

Thanks again, Ken...

If someone wants to purchase my book from Lulu, which costs, say $10, will they end up paying lots more to actually get the book in their hands?

Where can I find the various shipping options and charges associated with it?

Can I order a couple of books or just one book?

How will they pay, if they want to buy my book?

Where can I get the information about all these?

Well I think you're doing very well as it is - but you can always try Search or buy Tony-s book

Ken, if I make a dummy order... hmm, I guess I know what you mean. Will do it tomorrow and let you know.

With you guys around, I am sure I can get all the information required. And with experience, I will try to gather more information. Thanks for the assistance! :manhappy:

Re: Shipping and Charges

Hi Ken,

I tried putting up an order and I saw that the book I ordered (dummy) for was $4.67 and the shipping charges was $11.99! Surprising, mate!

Is there anyways, that Lulu prints and sends books from here in India? I heard sometime ago that Lulu had a collaboration with Crossword in India. Can they not print and ship it from here?

I'm afraid you're stuck with those shipping charges.

An option may be to ship to where you live and then post it on, especially if you were to order more than one book at the time.
