Customising Lulu templates

First time I really work with your templates. I cannot afford M$ products so I try to use my Libre Office. I don't know if it is a incompatibility of LO or if it is my lack of experience, but I tried to get rid of the top and bottom border lines on the first page. I tried it in the Page format border settings, but there were no borders set there. The same was valid for the separte "First Page" setting. Why are there border lines anyhow? I cannot image that this is some kind of aesthetical standard since I see many books without them with only margins. If somebody wants them they should be able to put them.

Also, it would be convenient and reassuring when Lulu could provide LO or OO templates, beside commercial closed standard templates.

Re: Customising Lulu templates

I already found where the borderlines came from. They are Header and Footer borders. I was able to turn them off now.

Re: Customising Lulu templates

I think the link is BAD - it took me to "Page Numbering in MS Word " - I wanted the ability to change the cover templates.  Also, when I select a temple, what appears does not match the example.  I also can not delete a bad design without starting over!!!
