Why some and not all?

I was wondering why some things we can create at Lulu cannot all have ISBNs and Dist.

There are some that cannot have an ISBN and Dist at all, there are some that can have free ISBNs and Dist, and there are others that can only have the paid for one.

What dictates this?

And >> what stops Lulu doing anything about it?

Distribution needs ISBN

Maybe only formats that Amazon can print can therefore get distribution

Re: Why some and not all?

I would be amazed if Createspace cannot create most types of books. I do think that nowadays that's how they fulfill many orders, even if they do not say so. I recall their CEO saying something along those lines many years ago at some book fair.

How jolly odd. I am not getting Replied To Notifications for at least 2 hours after the reply!

I only replied about 20 mins ago.

Ifyou got a notification with a time of 2 hours later maybe it something to do with that I'm currently  in a time zone 2 hours ahead of UK?

Re: Why some and not all?

Well I know you only replied 20 mins ago Peter, I was speaking in general, but it did use to be instant.

Anyway, to add to what I was saying. This what can and cannot have a Lulu ISBN and Dist problem vanishes in some instances when you cross Lulu's palms with silver. So it cannot be a printing issue.

Re: Why some and not all?

Hi Kevin

It's not just CreateSpace. There is another distribution printer - the one that prints books for the GlobalReach distribution package - that has size and binding type limitations.

Cheers
