About Assigning an ISBN! [ Edited ]

To add to this post here http://connect.lulu.com/t5/Lulu-Lounge/Good-shipping-experience/td-p/148529, however, the cover will still be difficult when somebody assigns an ISBN, as lulu embeds that ISBN into the back cover, which in this case is the front cover of Arabic books. To work around this, I may need to elect not to assign an ISBN for the book. The question is, if I did that and then inserted the self-owned ISBN my self in the front cover (which is the back cover for Arabic books) how could lulu know the book has an ISBN? How would it promote that ISBN?

I think there's no way here, unless lulu used a process to hinder inserting the ISBN automatically and let authors do that themselves. Is there any way to do that?

If you use the Lulu cover wizwrd then either an ISBN barcode or a Lulu identity barcode will be automatically added the the back cover.

Only way to avoid that is to create your own one-piece cover and upload that.

The barcode location doesn't matter unless you want to use the distribution service and as I understand it the ISBN regulations states the ISBN barcode is placed on the back cover and the ISBN number is shown inside on teh copyright page.

Thanks, Peter, that's nice of you. I tried the one-piece cover design. I am looking now for ways to best use it to suit my needs. Kind regards.
