is the pdf download copy protected?

If I choose to make my book available as a pdf download, can buyers copy and share the file, or is it copy protected? Is an ebook copy protected?

If it is a PFF of a hardcopy book then it is not copy protected.
If you create a PDF eBook then it can have DRM.
