browser searching comes up with nothing

Is there a way to get products created with Lulu to show up in a browser search?

I created a calendar, if I type "2012 Akbash calendar" in a browser search field (ie. Google), nothing... nothing from Lul anyway. Cafepress Akbash calendars show up in a search result.

Am I missing something? I have all the appropriate tags and keywords set up. Not a great thing for a not-for-profit fundraiser.

Thanks in advance for any tips/suggestions/ideas.

Martine

Do you have a link to your Spotlight?
And it is often the Keywords the search engines look for.

Re: browser searching comes up with nothing

This then?     Akbash Dogs International 2012 Calendar

And via a Lulu search >>    http://www.lulu.com/browse/search.php?fListingClass=0&fSearch=Akbash+Dogs+International+2012+Calenda...

It can take a while to appear on this new Spotlight set-up. I put 2 new things up today and one a few days ago and they have yet to appear!

You are aware that you need to advertise that it is actually here to buy? Calendars cannot have Lulu ISBNs or Dist Packs can they? So that means you will have to do all the marketing of it yourself, or no one will know it is even here to search for.

In fact even if it did get on the Amazon etc, you would still have to tell people it is there.

Re: browser searching comes up with nothing

I know it appears using the search within the Lulu site. That works great.

It is you open a browser like Google, type in something like "2012 Akbash calendar" in the search field.

Get get results from Cafepress but notmy item created with Lulu does not come up as a search result.

Maybe I am not explaining myself well LOL. I am most certainly not expecting it to show up on Amazon. But I thought if someone was searching for a calendar on Akbash Dogs, it would pop up as a search result on a search engine, like Google, Yahoo, Foxfire or meta searchers like Dogpile or whatever it is that one uses.

Well for a start  it is called this >>  Akbash Dogs International 2012 Calendar, not what you keep calling it in your postings. I small point but possibly an important one. But indeed I cannot find it via a websearch. Are you sure your Spotlight is set to General?

I have found this though (just by using the name of the 'group') >>   http://www.akbashdogsinternational.com/node/77  but there is no obvious mention of your calender on there. Is that the right place? If it is then surely you should be selling the calendar via an advert/link from that site?

This is a handy place >>     http://www.addme.com/submission/free-submission-start.php

I don't understand why one would expect to be able to Google a new Lulu publication?

Hope? LOL.

But why? Is it like searching for your name?

I've just had a word with Larry Page and he's promised to have someone monitor Lulu 24/7  :smileyvery-happy:
