Re: The New Author Spotlight - Post your comments here.

It sure would be nifty if I could pick a layout that didn't overlap the book description, price and add to cart button over the photo of the book cover.

http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/petermartz

I only have two layout options and neither fixes this issue. The photo is not selectable to be rescaled in Chrome. Maybe another browser perhaps?

I'd also like to vote for the ability to place photos of the book covers with something manually rather than from the Lulu upload/conversion system. Then maybe I could control size and have it not underlap the text on the page?

It should not do that, try a different template.

Amazing. How do people who cannot read thread/subject titles and dates on them, manage to write a book?

Mondovox,

If the main problem is the size of the photo, then you can correct that on your own computer, and then reload the photo to your Lulu author spotlight.  (Or, at least, I think you can.)

Copy the photo as it looks now on your Spotlight.

Re-size the photo in your graphics program.

(If you do not have a graphics program, you can download GIMP for free.  It does a lot of the tasks that PhotoShop does, but for no cost.  I'm very leery of "free" software, but GIMP has not caused me any trouble.)

Re-load the smaller photo to your Spotlight.

This should fix the overlap problem.

That said, I still wish that Lulu had not come up with the "improved" Spotlight.
