Re: The New Author Spotlight - Post your comments here.

That is a gripe with me too and it happens all over Lulu's Site. Back opens default pages, not how you set them just before you clicked some other link!

Re: The New Author Spotlight - Post your comments here.

I think the Spotlight is an improvement over the old system, and I think many of the commenters on this thread have good points - hope Lulu will make changes based on what has been said. I would also like to see one new feature which I think all of us would appreciate: visitor statistics. I want to increase sales. It would be a help to me to know which of my works are being looked at, I could make decisions about how to promote my works based on that.

Once HTML is included you'll be able to do your own stats.

Re: The New Author Spotlight - Post your comments here.

Alexapope, the first page is ordered correctly by Publication date, but the second page always goes back to Relevance.

Actually, going to Page layout on the second page, changing back to Publication date again and clicking Save changes doesn't seem to work at all, it gets stuck to Saving until I click Cancel.

Re: The New Author Spotlight - Post your comments here.

Hi Vizkhan,,,,Sorry, but if you find a solution to the second page also to the rearranging as to how your books appear,,inst;- bk 1 bk2 bk3 etc, are all jumbled up and dragging them to where you want them does not work on either pages. Any way I have e,mailed Lulu and when I get a reply to that one I will post it,

Provision for audio podcast

The author's spotlight page provides for a video.I posted a YouTube promo of my book into this. Lulu could add to the diversity of the spotlight by providing a facility for an audio podcast as well. My background is broadcast journalism and I have narrated all chapters of one book with dramatisation SFX, music etc. Visitors could have an additional dimension of insight into the author's works. Do it Lulu!

The header name does not need to be the same as the content originator's name. Really. My own site is called Out Of My Mind, but that is not my name ... the subheading and rest of the text says who the content is by. Plus, when you create a book you have the option to type any creator's name in the type in here strip at the start. That will show up on your Spotlights.

You are right, Kevin, when you are an author and you publish books you wrote. The problem appears if you are an editor and you publish books from several authors. In this case, "about" should be "about xyz edition".

Well, there is still a solution (for all who are asking how to change): open your profil and change your family name in the profil. for exemple:

Name: Miller --> change to --> Name: London Publishing Co.

In this case, on the new storefront, it will appear "About London Publishing Co" - but on the other hand side, here your post will appear also under the name of your company and no more with your personal name.

Re: The New Author Spotlight - Post your comments here.

Ben, simply put details in the Description Box >> example >> This book is by

(But surely it also says the name on the covers?)

Is it not a bit like Amazon? Who are called Amazon, but do not write the books? No book on Amazon is called By Amazon ...
