Spine calculator

I have tried using the spine calculator for a saddle-stitched, paperback, color, 28 page book. It keeps telling me I have an error. It happens even when I add extra pages. I spoke to 2 reps online, one said I had to have a mimimum of 78 pages, (!!) and the other said I did not need a spine for saddle-stitched.

Is the calculator not working for the saddle-stitched or am I doing something wrong here?

There is not a spine on a saddle stitched book.
If you think about a 28 page book plus cover is only 8 sheets of folded paper.

If you really need a spine then you a perfect bound book and enough pages to actually see a spine.

Yes, you can add four extra pages easily: About the Author, Website info page, Dedication, Glossary, Index, Other Books By page, and so on.
