I just read something about Embedding fonts for PDF? My files are JPEG and I used free fonts from blambot.com for dialogue and sound effects. Is that okay?
I also read about formatting your page sizes to be 6.625" x 10.25" Does that mean to make sure my page sizes are that size or smaller? Mine are 600 x 927 and a few are a bit smaller. Is that okay?

All of the dialog in my Velda comics becomes part of the jpeg artwork which comprises the individual pages, which are then all converted to a single pdf file. Since the art is jpeg files, there is no problem regarding embedding fonts (it's all the same as any other image file so). You can use any font on the planet.

Make pages/images to the exact size of the project's pages. Allow a margin for trimming though.
Apologies, but when you say "the size of the project's pages" do you mean the graphic novel?
Because I made it from 11 x 17 sized paper (which is standard for print comics) and scanned them in at 300 dpi. I resized down them in photoshop to about (dimensions) 600 x 914 and (size) 151 KB and they are now around 72 dpi. Sorry I'm not that technical and am only JUST learning fornatting and other digital things. I just hope I'm doing it right!
I have a 1 inch margin on both sides and a 1 3/4 margin on the top and bottom of each page.

So does this mean I'm going to have to RE-upload all the comic book pages as the original 11 x 17 size? Instead of the downsized versions I use for the web? Also, the origianal 11 x 17 page files are .psd, would I have to convert them to JPEG?

Your creations on Lulu are called Projects and because this is B.O.D or P.O.D, the size and shapes of the books you can make are limited and fixed. So the pages in the file that you upload to the Wizards have to be the same shape and size of whatever stock size & shape Lulu book you decided on.

What you need to do is create a .doc or what other file type the Wizards will accept, to the size/shape as per above, resize your pictures to fit that size/shape and paste them to the pages in the .doc. Then upload. And yes, .jpgs at 300dpi are best.

I am not sure what 'standard' comics you mean. I own 100s of DC comics etc, and they are not that size!
Yes, I only meant that when pencilers/inkers draw the actual pages it is on 11 x 17 sized comicbook board, then they are downsized to the standard print size that we buy from the comic shops/stands approx: 6 1/2 x 10 x 1/4...![]()

I'm a newbie on Lulu, so apologies if this is posted somewhere else. Other user group sites I use navigate a little differently. Is there a link to a message breaking down how to go about publishing on Lulu, a graphic novel, at least the parts that make it unique (basically that its all scanned .jpg's etc of one's artwork, versus pages of text like a conventional novel)?
thanks
