Question about Cover information

Hi, I would like to know, can I pass validated without putting an author name on the cover? And do I need to put every word on the cover as my book title? Because I was being rejected about what I put on my cover that I'm hoping someone could tell me more about the information on the cover.

I'm fairly sure that for an EPUB you need a clearly defined title and sub title (if you have one) as well as the author name. Those need to correspond precisely to the EPUBs metadata and the Lulu book title an author. Other words may be part of the cover design but ensure they don't confuse the basic information. Remember that the cover of an EPUB does not have the same marketing value as that of a printed book someone may browse on a bookshelf. So why clutter with other wording?

I do have the book title and author name listed in the metadata, but I would like to know is it be possible for me no put the author on the book cover?
