Price Setting

I have been reading the information on how to price a book and am becoming more confused.  I have arrived at a reasonable price of $12 for a 140 page 6X9 paperback.   If I sell the book through Amazon do they sell it for $12 or do they mark it up.  What do I do to see that Amazon doesn't sell it for more than $15?  Is this what a '"discount" means?  Exactly what should I do to set a fair price for the book with a fair royalty to me?

Thanks

Re: Price Setting

$12 is what Amazon will sell it for.
They may in time sell it for less but you will always get the guaranteed revenue.
The discount price is what you can sell it at only on Lulu.

Amazon will sell it at the Lulu price or they'll discount it.

Either way you will get the same revenue.
