Portfolio Issues - I'm sorry to be a hassle.

Hello I'm trying to publish an architecture portfolio and I have a few questions and would really appreciate some help.

1) I would like to make it a photobook despite the large amounts of text in my portfolio. Are there any other options to get glossy or high quality paper in color? Also can i Just upload my pages without lulu studio (I have them all in PDF)

2) I'm just curious as well, if i chose to print this as a paperback book normally what quality will the paper be? and can i get it glossy because i have some very high res photos.

3) Last question, i set it up as two page spreads and have broke them up into single pages. My question, is does it print back to back with pages (example page three would be the back of page 2)

Thanks so much for you help

Re: Portfolio Issues - I'm sorry to be a hassle.

You can choose to print your book as a colour book, where the pages are slightly heavier and glossier. But they're also substantially more expensive. That's the trade off. Whether this quality will be enough for you, I can't say, because peoples' standards of acceptibility differ.

Yes, you can upload single pdfs and they'll be printed as a 'normal' book, with page 3 being on the back of page 2. However, if you want full bleed, with your images stretching to the edge of the page, you can only upload your work as one whole pdf file, with its page size set to a quarter inch wider and taller than the book that you're printing - so 6.25 x 9.25 inches, for example.

Fantastic Thank you so much, and just to clarify things - because i do have some full bleed pages - i can just combine all the single pages into one large pdf as a binder and upload that with the quarter inch border.

The Color book sounds perfect and I think calculated it out and it wasnt that bad. Anyway, thanks so much.

Yes, if you want full bleed you must submit a single pdf and its size must be a quarter inch wider and taller than the book size you want. it's not that you'll get a 'border' but that your file will be printed and then trimmed to the correct size (say 6 x 9). So make sure ALL your pages are the right (larger) size before you combine them and be sure to keep any important info away from the edge, where it might be trimmed off. If you click on the Help tab above and Search on bleed you'll find a Help FAQ page that will give you more info on bleed pages.
