NEED HELP ON ISBN Question

I just had to redo a hardcover book from the beginning since i needed to edit the initial book cover from my published book. I went ahead and retired my old book. I noticed that I don't see a new ISBN # for me new book like I did on my previous one. Why?

Yes.

You must have missed an early step. Could you not just unretire and revise the original?

That's what I tried and when I tried to revise the original, it wouldn't let me select the hardcover size again.
