If you are near Texas and want to come out it's gonna be great. Frank Ball was a speaker at the writers retreat I attended last month and it was a wonderful event. If you can swing it I suggest going it will be well worth the money.

If I'm not busy on the set I will definitely be there. Look for me in these movies and tv series ....I will be in the upcoming Season 3 HBO Series Treme which will air this September. I will also be in the movie Knights of Glory, and Quentin Tarantino's movie Django Unchained which is scheduled to premiere December 25, 2012.

Oh ok, I wasn't aware of that. I'm not affiliated with his company or anything I just recieved the email about the program since I am on the mailing list because I attended the retreat. I thought I would pass the info along to people like myself who are self published authors.

Kevin, I have to ask.
Are you having a laugh with this question?
"Well once people have paid to listen to him live, then what is there to lose?"
That's akin to saying that once ONE person has bought your book you should make it free to everyone else, after all, you've been paid once, what do you have to lose?
Anyone who makes their living holding seminars, training workshops or anything that provides a service based product spends hundreds of hours developing, honing and polishing their course materials, visual aids and vocal performance.
The 'cover price' of a seat at that conference/workshop, whilst it may seem expensive to you, has to provide a return on that investment of time and one event probably won't come close to the 'break-even' point.
I'm surprised that someone who sells their "words and art" has this attitude to someone else's Intellectual Property.

Free advertising is the best type there is. Then again, I am not a capitalist.
No it does seem dear to me, although compared to things like rock concerts where one pays around £30 to watch someone sing songs that have taken them a year or two to create, perhaps it is, but then I do not go yo mentoring sessions, and I do not know of anyone who does, except when a company pays for the ticket, such as ones my wife is forced to go on paid for out of cash-strapped educational budgets, and she has no idea what purpose they served.
But hang on a moment. Intellectual property? No one was suggesting someone steal the chap's work to put it on Youtube were they? I for one do actually at times give my stuff away. There's a free PDF on my site for example. I am not mercenary.
