As a UK based author I received an email from Lulu about a discount code I can offer to my friends
25% off any of your books
Coupon Code: LULUBOOKUK305
Coupon expires 31 January 2012
£50 Max Savings
The coupon code includes the letters UK and the maximum saving per customer is shown as 50 GBP.
Can customers in the USA paying USD for their books use this coupon?
I don't want to advertise the saving on a US forum if the offer is not open to all.

I'm in the UK and never received that. I see the homepage of Lulu has a UK code for 50% off the purchase of a *second* book until 15th Jan.

Not all promotions go to all customers. I got the same message which Peter did, although I live neither in the US or UK. One would presume it is open to all customers regardless of their location unless there is any clear statement to the contrary.

Hi Peter,
I have checked with the marketing department and they informed me this promotion can be used by customers in the UK and the USA. As long as the customer is paying in pounds, euros, or dollars this code will work. It is limited to one use per account. I hope this information helps. :-)

What does your account say?
In My Lulu look at
and then in there have you checked the box
Specials, Sales & Promotions
Yes, I'd like to be notified of sales, discounts, coupons and other special promotions from Lulu
If so, have a look in your spam folder.

As you no doubt know, authors can purchase their books at essentially cost. Do you know if a, say, 25% discount offered by lulu also applies to the discounted price authors pay for their own books?
For example, if my book retails for $12, but cost is $8.00 (which is the price I would normally pay for my own book), can I get 25% off of the $8.00, or does that only apply to the purchases at full retail price?
As a second question, if someone buys my $12 book for $9.00 (at 25% off), does that cut into my author's margin too, or is the entire 25% discount borne by Lulu?
If you, or anyone else, knows the answer to these questions, I'd appreciate your responding. Thanks in advance.

Not on this specific offer, but the usual 20% off dscounts advertised on the home page are applicable -- just read the small print

Yes

No
or is the entire 25% discount borne by Lulu?
Yes. Aren't they lovely?
If you need bulk supplies of your book its best to wait till one of their discount offers
.
