In the last ten days I have had some contact with support. I mailed them to say a book (which was being printed in France) had not arrived after 28 days though it was listed as being shipped. I had no gripes with the company as I had ordered the book with a non trackable mailing mode. Today, I received a mail saying, Lulu would send me another, complimentary, book with upgraded trackable mail - all free of charge. As it happens, the original book has arrived and I have Informed the company of that, but what a nice gesture.
I then had a couple of technical problems and the guys on the forum sorted them out for me, great stuff.
Finally, I ordered two books on Sunday evening and they arrived this morning, wonderful service.
To all you doubting Thomases and others who want to know of other self publishing companies, I would say, think again. Lulu is the place to be and that is soemthing, coming from someone who once felt like you, but not now. I have found out what Lulu is really like.

Great to see someone else posting positive comments James.
I had given up on the Forum for a few months because of all the moaning minnies.
Maybe it is just that we Scots are more successful! Sales of my Lulu books now exceed 4300 copies and, like you, I have nothing but praise for Lulu.
