Has anyone used the proofreading services here?

I think it's almost time for me to get one and it will either be here or another service online or in my local area. If you used it here what'd think? Easy, painless?

On a side note is there a search feature on these forums and I'm missing it?

Thanks.

Don't bother wasting your time on any of the Professional Services offered.
You won't find any recommendations here.

Word aint a bad 'Proofreader', that is if you understand what it means when it highlights a mistake :-)

Therein lies the Word Catch 22: You cannot use the grammar-check unless you already have a good grasp of grammar, in which case you won't need it.

Thanks Ken. I've off to check them out.

And Kevin word doesn't catch the kind of things I'm searching for. I've proofed it on several occaions, (and had a friend do it too) but darn it all if I alwyas find something new! Grammar isn't really an issue either since it's a cookbook. So I need an eagle'd eye person.

Re: Has anyone used the proofreading services here?

It depends on how you set Word. But it is handy in one way, that when it hi-lights something and you are not sure why, you can then find out! Word is almost 'educational'. :-)
I am sure some people turn off all the checking (I don't have Grandma checking on) or perhaps even ignore the hi-lighted stuff and publish anyway.
