I exported a book with Indesign 5.5 to epub format. It works fine with Adobe Digital Editions. I converted to mobi but it doesn't work because I need to have Lucinda Sans Unicode in part of the text. Kindle does not recognize this font even though I embedded it during the export process.
How do I submit the finished epub to get into your distribution system?

I had to make my own ePub because of the huge TOC. I need to know if a finished ePub is acceptable.

If you create a docx the right way, Lulu's convertor will create the TOC.
It will let you upload an epub though. Why not have a look at the ebook Wizard and see?

I'll give it a shot. I assume the epub is uploaded during the normal publication process. There won't be any cover uploaded because the cover is already in my epub. I cannot see how Lulu's epub creater can possibly know the TOC's links and TOC labels that I want for my epub design.

To add to Kevin's comments.
First you should not embed fonts. Switch off that option in the InDesign export to EPUB.
Second, Lulu will expect you to provide a Marketing Image 612*792px at the Cover stage irrespective that you have defined one in the OPF.
Third, yes Lulu will accept a complete EPUB. However you should validate the EPUB before uploading it.
Look at thses tutorial first:

I am new to ePub creation, so your advice is extremely helpful. I did check with EpubCheck and it turns out that filenames with spaces make the standard very unhappy. My epub is made from an Undersign 5.5 book with very many files. I removed the filename spaces and uploaded the modified epub to B&N Pipit, which accepted it with no problem; encryption.xml showed with filename spaces. Now there is another issue. My epub is a dictionary that uses Lucinda Sans Unicode for IPA to show readers how a word is pronounced. Lucinda Sans Unicode works fine in Adobe Digital Editions and PDF, but not in Nook or Amazon mobi. Unless there's a workaround for the Lucinda Sans Unicode problem, it doesn't look like I can create an epub for current ereaders. Oh well! Anyway, I do appreciate your guidance.
