I understand that... We are getting into something else now which is not really related to the original topic, but the management of books on Lulu is designed more for the single author than for someone like me who publishes lots of books from multiple authors.
At the moment, the link "More from this author" <-Replace with author's name, links to my storefront and NOT to more from the same author. I have noticed just recently that sometimes, and I am not sure when, this is changed to be a "search" for books with a similar author. I would REALLY like to see the ability to manage the meta-data a lot better... defining an authoritative list of authors for example, then linking titles to that author.. as well as split royalty payments etc. and also having the ability to have an author's profile page, where I could post a photo and bio of the author together with a list of the books that author has written. I do this seperately on my own site now, but it would be nice to have it on Lulu..
The whole issue of meta-data should be looked at. We are seeing the beginnings of the integration of Dublin Core data in the epub format. This data could be harvested automatically by Lulu and confirmed/merged with data already on the site. Also, if we had some form of authority record for the title, it would be easy to link the various formats/options etc together. Ultimately, I would LOVE to see:
Book Title X available in the following formats: Print (Paperback), Print (hardcover), epub, pdf, mobipocket, LRF, FB2.
Author Y. Other books by this author: Title A, Title B etc
Referring to the brain-dead storefront page is simply a cop-out. Sorry. Don't mean to be rude, but it is really pathetic for anyone who has more than a very few titles available. Take a look at mine to see what I mean..
