Contest entries quick look

Is there a place to look up all the contest entries?  I would love to see what other people wrote and it would be nice to see a count on what I posted.  People would get a lot of hits and rates, not to mention that it will allow new comers to see that they even have the talent to enter.

Thanks for your time.

Re: Contest entries quick look

At the moment it would appear that there is not (if I am in the wrong, I would gladly stand corrected!). SurveyMonkey, which privately sends entries to a chosen account, does not provide the public with such information. And I'd imagine it would take the Lulu staff some time to assemble such a page. I do, however, agree that it would be nice to view the other entries. Till' then, we must resort to such means as scouring the boards and searching 600-word stories on the market.

I doubt that any comp will alow that. It is normally only the winner's efforts you get to see. It does make you wonder what they will do with the entries though.

BTW. Who is judging them? (I have not entered.)

PS: David, are you only at Lulu to enter the comp? Or have you created another account just to enter the comp?

Re: Contest entries quick look

Some art competitions I have participated in have allowed their thousands of entries to be viewed by the public, however, it would make sense why an eBook contest would differ (can't just place entries in a gallery). The entries that don't win, as well as the entries that do, will remain publications, therefore in a way, everybody is a winner... though lacking an instant 500$, NOOK, & or gift card. The Lulu staff will be judging the entries. I myself have come to Lulu with the sole purpose of entering the competition, frankly, I knew nothing about this organization prior to the event I am curious, since it has not been announced, if the 2nd and 3rd place winners will be featured... on the Lulu blog perhaps? The grand prize winner gets the bundle - being featured on the upcoming promotion page, etc.

I'll be glad when the competition is over and we can get back to normal on these pages!

It's interesting how some people who were not 'clients' of Lulu know more about this comp then those who were/are! Apart from the scanty mention of it on Lulu's site, where else has it been publicised? (It's a shame the same effort is not put in to promoting the media already for sale here.)
And Ken is right. How many, after they have submitted their 600 words (or multiples thereof) will continue to publish here at Lulu after the comp? Very few I would bet, and yet we have to help so many of them through the process of making their file work, and how to actually enter the comp!
Not just that. The comp is flooding Lulu, B&n and Apple with possibly 1000s of 600 word 'books'! But to what purpose?!
To be honest, because of the way the comp is put together and with whom, I think it is just a data collecting exercise.
Have I entered? No, the prize is not that attractive really. Now if the prize was a full set of adobe software and a 22" 'gaming' laptop, then ...

Re: Contest entries quick look

Perhaps I've phrased my responses... poorly. I joined Lulu with the purpose of entering the contest, with the intention of making many future publications. The only reason I have not started any question threads would be due to the fact that I have spent much time reading Lulu's guides, etc. Plus, the site layout makes it a simple matter to find information quickly and efficiently. I do not mean to impose upon the Lulu community, but rather contribute to it.

Adventure. Just lately you are the first person I have seen say that it is easy to find what you need to know on Lulu and to say you have actually read the site! Well done. The forum is often the first port of call for many people, expecting us to lead them through everything. Many have not even looked at their own My Lulu section.
