I’ve noted on our book that it is only available as an epub for Adobe Digital Editions. The downloaded file is then an Adobe digital editions file not a straight epub that can then be put onto an Ipad. I’m still new to all this and learning. So my question is how can people just download an epub file to then put into Itunes or other PC program to them upload to a tablet device?
Thanks for any help.

Sorry to be a pain about this but my ebook is not a straight ePub as I thought it should be and expected it to be, it can only be downloaded as ePub for Adobe digital editions format which can then only be viewed on a small numbers of devices. It is not because I had ADE on my computer, it doesn't matter if we look on an iPad or a Android tablet it is still only giving the option of buying it in ADE format. So no it can not be read on on an iPad in this format, or many other tablets, it needs to be an ePub. An example of how I expected it to be is http://www.lulu.com/product/ebook/summer-breaks-%2
How do I change it from ADE format to ePub format, is there some setting etc I've missed or do I need to contact Lulu support.
Sorry for more questions, I really appreciate your help on this issue, I have told people they can download it for an iPad and they can't so I need to get this sorted. Thanks

I've just had a thought, I put DRM on the eBook which I believe it's put on via ADE, would that then make it only available in ADE format?
Thanks

Thanks Ken for your quick reply, to see if what you were saying was correct I just purchased a copy of my book from my iPad, the download does not work direct from it. It says "to read this eBook you will need to install Adobe Digital Editions. Adobe Digital Editions easily install’s on windows or a mac and allows you to transfer your eBook to a variety of eReading devices"
So I downloaded ADE to my computer, downloaded my book, which opened fine on my computer in ADE. As per the instructions in ADE “Connect the supported eReader device to your computer and launch Digital Editions. Digital Editions automatically detects the presence of your device and offers to authorize it with your Adobe ID.” Key here is “ SUPPORTED eREADER,” so I clicked on their link for what devices were supported, see this link for the full list http://blogs.adobe.com/digitalpublishing/supported
On my eBook it says format for this eBook requires ADE. Also on the Lulu site under “What devices can I view my eBook on” http://connect.lulu.com/t5/Digital-Media-eBook-Dow
When I click on the info about my book under file protection it says “File Protection: Adobe Digital Editions, Get Adobe Digital Editions Reader” So my previous post where I said was it possible that because I had used DRM file protection it can only be read using ADE and the devices that are compatible with it, sounds like it might be correct.
Appreciate your help and feedback.
