Everyone seems to be having the same problem, especially those who've published with Lulu before and used to be able to get the cover templates to work all right. I uploaded a one-piece cover for another book a couple of years ago with no problem, but now there are these 'postscript point' things that no-one has heard of and that seem to stand in everyone's way. I've designed a one-piece cover for my current book, using the same edition of Photoshop as before and matching the image dimensions exactly to the size the cover should be, but the 'point' count, whatever it is, proves to be out by about two fifths - I'm 560 by 411, and apparently I should be 932 by 681. Has anyone worked out what this means and what to do about it, please?

If you look at the dimension spec you are offered a number of formats including points, pixels, and mms.

Use layers. The template in one, your design above it. When finished, hide the template layer. Save as PDF.

However, the current "new" wizard does not offer that opportunity. It is asking me to create a cover and does not give me an option to upload my own artwork.

Yes, it does.
Use the Advanced One Piece Cover Designer.
