Re: My book....

Ah, advertising babble. I am strange, I avoid claims that cannot be proven. Mail it to some church leaders first, they perhaps will not care what the book says :-)

Re: My book....

At what point did I suggest making "claims that cannot be proven"? I suggested 're-purposing' negative comments to provide a 'hook' for sales.

The OP said that people didn't want to buy the book because it deals with negative aspects of religion.

Some people love to read about negative aspects of religion, and it's clear that controversy sells books, otherwise Richard Dawkins would never sell a bean.

What you consider to be advertising babble evidently works, or nobody would use these soundbites on their book covers at all.

Re: My book....

I agree with Charles..

A slogan on the cover such as The book the Bishops Bashed would gain attention....

Re: My book....

These are statements that cannot be proven, until some church members or whatever, actually read the book to generate those comments >>

"The book the Church doesn't want you to read"
"Disturbing and bordering on blasphemy"
"The author's going to hell" (not sure how that one could be proven!)

Yes it would Peter, but only if it is true.

But bashing bishops? ermmm :-)

I suppose the writer could always use that old standby >> Taking the world by storm!!!

Anyway, a Preview would be handy.

Re: My book....

It is a very attractive slogan.

I may make some mistakes being a new publisher as far as formatting is concerned, but I do know an attractive slogan when I see one! :smileywink:

I wish you the best of luck!

Re: My book....

its ok if its a bit negative about the bible and if its fiction then what's the problem? many people aren't religious so i'm sure they wouldn't mind/
