MY FIRST BOOK PUBLISHED

Hello everyone,

I would like to invite you to pick up a copy of my new book and eBook titled: Appled by Maritess Emborgo. It is about the love story of a surgeon and a nurse who met in a medical mission. It is unique and a truly inspiring story. It is a story of how enduring love prevails against all odds. The setting was in the Philippines until they migrated to the United States. It is now available here in Lulu. And will soon be available at amazon.com

I will appreciate reviews. It is partly fiction and partly based on true to life story. Thank you all.

Re: MY FIRST BOOK PUBLISHED

Hello.

I looked at the Preview of your printed version.

It has a nice looking cover, but flowers, not apples?   :smileyhappy:  Apple is a person? Perhaps a person should be on the cover?

I get the title, lets see how many others do.

Book innards look ok (I don't have the time to read it) but there are numbers on pages that should not have numbers. Numbering should start on the page the story starts on and end where the story ends.

Re: MY FIRST BOOK PUBLISHED

Congratulations

Nice cover but I don't understand its relevence to the story.

What Kevin said plus

-justify text

-no blank line between paragraphs

- better a serif font

- use curly apostrophes/quote marks

- new line for dialogue

From reading the book I think perhaps English is not your first language.

work/ed appears 5 times in first 4 lines.

First para is contradictory "He looked for work. . . . he couldn't find work ... . . . he  worked as a carpet cleaner." I think what you meant was he couldn't find a hospital job so he worked cleaning carpets.

"Sometimes she wandered if her decisions were right...." Should be wondered.

Equipment is plural

Re: MY FIRST BOOK PUBLISHED

Just going to add some extra help - can't see the preview but I'll try and guess from what the others have said:

With regards to page numbers, follow this youtube clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1WtKR6FDM4

The above is for Word 2007 though, so if you use an older or newer version you will have to search on youtube for one :smileyhappy:

Serif, Garamond or Times New Roman are the better fonts - the latter 2 if you plan on making it available for eBook distribution with Lulu later down the line.

To get the 'Curly' qoutation marks, you will need to switch on auto-correct in word - pain I know. Follow the instructions on how to change them here (right at the bottom): http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/change-curly-quotes-to-straight-quotes-and-vice-versa-HA...

No breaks in paragraphs, and new breaks for new dialogue as Peter and Kev said :smileyhappy:
