Author Spotlight page link broken!

I just clicked on a link in an email sent to me by Lulu that was suppose to convert my existing storefront to the new "Spotlight" format. After doing this, I cannot get to either my old storefront -OR- my new spotlight. Trying to go to the spotlight I get messages such as "Oops! That link is broken!" and "Page not found!"

How can I restore my storefront! I can't believe that links like this are sent out if they are not completely debugged first!

Re: Author Spotlight page link broken!

I've also noticed that the "author's spotlight" links featured on every one of my books points to my old storefront (which no longer exists) and not to the promised author's spotlight. It seems that it is currently impossible for any of my customers to reach my main page, which is a shame, as I do think that it's an improvement on my old storefront. I'm hoping that it will be fixed soon as it's been like this now for what seems like a month of Sundays. No wonder my sales seem to have dropped ever since this happened.

Re: Author Spotlight page link broken!

I'm surprised that anything points to a Storefront.
I suggest that you delete the existing Spotlight and then create a new one, that should ensure each link is correct.

You will have to live with the new Spotlight, or delete it and live without it, for some time yet. A revision is on next years To Do List.

Re: Author Spotlight page link broken!

Thanks Ken. I can give that a try, but it's not the links on the spotlight page that are the problem, it's the links on all of the individual pages for my books, such as at http://www.lulu.com/product/hardcover/historical-descriptions-of-camborne/18661281 where the spotlight link points to my old storefront. I am very happy with my author spotlight page (at http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/Vibracobra23), I am just not happy that there seems no way for visitors to find it.

Re: Author Spotlight page link broken!

I understand that. But my feeling is that when you delete the Spotlight and then create the new one it will re-create the proper links for you.

I have an appointment in a short while but I will try it later this afternoon. Thanks Ken.

[ Edited ]

Deleted my spotlight as suggested, but I get no links anywhere to create a new one. Not from "My Lulu" or from clicking on any of "My Projects". I even tried clicking on the link from the original Lulu email from last August, but nothing works. Maybe it's because mine is a fairly old account (2006) but Lulu definitely seem to have had problems migrating my account to the new settings. Hopefully, I'll discover how to create a new spotlight when I return home later.

Re: Author Spotlight page link broken!

It's quite simple - enter this in web browser address line.

Re: Author Spotlight page link broken!

Many thanks Ken, much appreciated, though obviously only simple if you know where to find the link.

I tried deleting and recreating my author's spotlight, as you suggested, but the links featured on my product pages all still point to my old storefront. I guess I'll have to await Lulu's reply to my ticket.

Re: Author Spotlight page link broken!

You may need to flush your Browser cache as the links will have changed but you are still seeing the page in your cache.
You may also have them in the server cache.
Try flushing and then give 24 hours.
