New Authors Spotlight

[ Edited ]

I am not satisfied with the new Spotlight design. Some new options are ok, bute there is no all of Aquillrelle books listed in all searching options. There is no way to put them in order we like. Everything is automated. To me it doesn't look better than the older one. Now we have much less control over it.

Re: New Authors Spotlight

Hi, If you go in to your spotlight, there is an area where you can sort out your books in the order of best seller, customer rating, relevance or publication date, all that is missing is being able to put them in alphabetical order. I am sure from the aforementioned list, you will be able to sort your books in an order that suits you. Hope that helps.

Yes, I saw all of this options and I know how to use them, but when I go to sort them by the publication date, only the first page is sorted this way, the second one is sorted by relevance and not all of books are there. Why?

Re: New Authors Spotlight

I'm afraid that you will have to live with it for now - That's the way it is.

I'm sure that a revamp is underway but don't expect anything in the immediate future.

By the way what ever sorts you select can be changed to their own by any visitor to the Spotlight. It's not like the old Storefront where the sort was fixed by the owner.

Thanks Ken, yes it looks like a kind of intermediate. We'll see if there will be any changes.

Re: New Authors Spotlight

It does seem like the usual Lulu tactic of changing things willy-nilly for the "benefit" of its users...without soliciting any input from them. The new storefronts look very pretty, but it would be nicer if the publishers/authors had a little more control over how their books are displayed.

Re: New Authors Spotlight

As a publisher - I have my books currently grouped by into specific sections and then in alphabetical within those sections. I have not made the change over to the new spotlight and probably won't until forced to do so because of all the problems I'm hearing.

Being able to control the layout and order of the books is very important in how they are promoted.

Hopefully, Lulu will give back full control like the Storefront gave us.

That's why I have an entirely separate website devoted to my Lulu books, independent of the storefront.

Re: New Authors Spotlight

Hi All,

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the url of our new spotlight page? It's a url that Lulu has automatically given me. They've gone and used the name I use for this board, but that's not my publisher name or my author name -- it's only a username that I use. Do they let us cutomise the url? Or am I stuck with it?
