What is an Author Spotlight Page?

The Lulu Author Spotlight Page is a new way for Lulu creators to showcase their work. The Author Spotlight Pages also make it easier for readers and buyers to find your work. Each Author Spotlight Page has it’s own unique URL and can be easily customized. Choose a theme, set the order of your items, add links, images, a profile, and videos.

What will the URL for my Author Spotlight Page be?

The Author Spotlight Pages use the Spotlight name that you choose when you create your Spotlight.

For Example:
Spotlight Name - cloud9
Author Spotlight Page URL - http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/cloud9

Please Note: You cannot change your Spotlight name once it has been created - so think carefully about how you want the world to know you.

How do I create my Author Spotlight Page?

Currently, Author Spotlight Pages are only available to new authors who have published a publicly available project. We will be moving over older authors as we can. If you are one of these new authors…

1. Click on the title of any project in your Project List.
2. When the page loads, you will be prompted to create an Author Spotlight Page.
3. Click “Yes, Create My Spotlight” button, or click “Not now, Thanks!” to cancel.
4. Look over this page of information and see what your Author Spotlight URL will be.
5. Click the “Yes Activate my Lulu Spotlight” button to get started.

 How do I change the Headline?

1. Logged in, go to your Author Spotlight Page.
2. Click the “Headline” button in the blue box at the top of the page.
3. Enter your text in the box and click the “Save Changes” button to finish.

How do I change the Page Layout?

1. Click the “Page Layout” button in the blue box at the top of the page to change the order of your items.
2. Click the drop down box to change the order your products will be listed in.
3. You can sort by Publication Date, Best Sellers, Customer Rating, and Relevance.
4. Click the “Save Changes” button to finish.

How do I change the Theme?

1. Click the “Theme” button in the blue box at the top of the page.
2. Click on the theme example you would like to use.
3. Click the “Hide Dialog button to see how the page looks. The change theme window will retreat to the top of the page. Click “Show Dialog” button to select a different theme.
4. Click the “Save Changes” button to finish.

How do I add a Profile?

1. Click the “Profile” button in the blue box at the top of the page.
2. To add an image click the “Choose file” button
3. Browse your computer for a JPG, GIF, or PNG 100 pixels wide by 120 pixels tall.
4. Select file and click open.
5. Enter a Bio or other information into the text box.
6. Click the “Save Changes” button to finish.

How do I change the name on my Profile?

1. You can change your Profile's name here: https://www.lulu.com/account/profile_edit.php
2. Replace the information in the "Name" field.
3. Click the "Save Changes" button.

How do I add a Logo or other image?

1. Click the “Logo” button in the blue box at the top of the page.
2. To add an image click the “Choose file” button
3. Browse your computer for a JPG, GIF, or PNG 230 pixels wide by 120 pixels tall.
4. Select file and click open.
5. Click the “Save Changes” button to finish.
6. To remove a Logo or other image, click the “Logo” button in the blue box at the top of the page.
7. Click the red X on the top right of the thumbnail.
8. Click the “Save Changes” button to finish.

How do I add a video?

1. Click the “Video” button in the blue box at the top of the page.
2. Enter the Youtube embeddable video code into the text box from Youtube. - You need to click "Share", "Embed", and then select only the "Use old embed code" option.
3. Click the “Save Changes” button to finish.
4. To remove a video, click the “Video” button in the blue box at the top of the page.
5. Click the red X on the top right of the video thumbnail.
6. Click the “Save Changes” button to finish.

Can I add multiple Logo/images or videos?

Only 1 of each is allowed.

How do I add links to my website or Facebook account?

1. Click the “Links” button in the blue box at the top of the page.
2. Click the “Link Text“ box at the top of the pop-up and enter the text you want the link to have.
3. Click the “URL” box to the right of the “Link Text” box and enter the URL for the site you want to link to.
4. Click the “Add New” button to add it to your list of links.
5. Repeat steps 2-4 until you have everything listed out.
6. You can rearrange the links, by clicking on a link’s bar and dragging it to where you want it.
7. Click the “Edit” button to make any changes to a link.
8. Click the red X to remove a link.
9. Click the “Save Changes” button to finish.

Can I Delete my Author Spotlight?

Yes, just go here https://www.lulu.com/delete_spotlight.php and click the “Delete My Author Spotlight” button.

Click the “Confirm Deletion of Author Spotlight” button.

None of your data will be saved.

Can I create another Author Spotlight Page after I delete it?

Yes, just click on one of your projects in your Project List.

Can I choose which of my books will display on my Author Spotlight Page?

You can choose which books display on your Author Spotlight Page by adjusting their Availability / Project Status.
