Re: Welcome to the Lulu Police State

It seems that I am the only one who remembers the aforementioned post. Ken responded robustly but NOT abusively to a new posting. It was borderline personal. The poster took exception and a brief spat ensued.
So what?

Of course, the same rules apply to Ken as to others but he, and others, often respond, and give advice, to postings more combative than the one he was 'punished' for. As Norman says administration exists simply to perpetuate its own existence.

DKMurphy and Oldwriter:

Could you be kind enough to start another thread about Godaddy etc?

There are lots of comments about 'hijacking' threads, which is what's happening here.

Thanks,

Norman.

Exactly, Dk.

In other words, nothing but a **bleep**-a-mamie excuse for deleting / covering up the evidence.

Unless, of course, you're 'Manager of Customers' Voices' on Lulu. (Or whatever.)

Some of us have been using Lulu for a long time and the old moderators (yes there was once some!) some times rarely would delete a posting, or lock them, or something. Or at least only lock them so you could at least see why but not respond!
Then Lulu staff start to almost ignore the forums, even when Notified about some "Inappropriate Content". Now, if such a posting is made, say, on a Friday night, it stays there until Monday because Lulu seem not to work WE's or hols. Or even out of 'office hours'. So how many people read some of the abuse on here (some fine examples have just cropped up right now) before they are removed?
But, suddenly, some top exec at Lulu has just had a go at Ken! Not the usual staff member that sometimes appears in the forums, but some top exec! What goes on here?!!
Has as been said Ken and others of us are about the only help people appear to get at Lulu now. People even think we are staff!
We have replaced the 24/7 live help, and also many of the old Help pages, of which there were 10000s. We respond far faster than staff. Even a lot of the Help Me links are aimed at the forum!
I do not understand this, Ken appears to have been picked out by someone, who somehow, has managed to get a response from a Lulu Director! Amazing.
But this director has obviously not taken any notice of any of the rest of the forums at all, ever, and has treated this in isolation. Compared to the abuse WE get, I feel we reply very very 'politely', even to those who are only here to have a go not just at us but also at Lulu.

The problem is, It is Lulu's site and they have rules that somewhere we agreed to that over-rides any so called free-speech, so tough.

Can we please close this thread.

I thank everyone for their support. I really appreciate it.

To the Lulu Staff Member who sent an anonymous PM to a fellow Lulu'er you should be ashamed of your self. It doesn't help you, Lulu or anyone else that tries to make life easy for those who use Lulu's services.

My shoulders are broad.
I shall endeavour to continue to reply to messages on the Forum as best I can and assist those who need help. I continue to live by my creed "Service Above Self" but I won't and never have suffered  fools gladly.
