Re: Lulu Release 2009.4.2

Nice Nick. Well done. Is there any chance you lot could make the storefronts less basic? As an example, have you ever seen the Homestead Site bulder?

http://www.homestead.com/

It is a WYSIWYG almost totally drag and drop prog that can be used on line (as a 'lite') or downloaded for use off-line (then Publish will upload when ready) Granted Homestead is not free and that tool is advanced, but I am sure you can see what I mean. :smileyvery-happy:

Oh, another thing >

Will the search engine now be able to 'read' more than one word?

and another thing (does anyone ever come back and read this? )

Friends of mine say it takes so long for the Storefronts to 'launch' that they get fed up of waiting, and at times it even times-out. I often have the same problem. Lulu's site is very slow. Can you not upgrade your servers or something? Get more BB lines installed?

Kevin, I do watch this forum regularly, though not necessarily every day.

Regarding your search question, I think quoting the relevant term(s) as mentioned here will likely do the trick: http://www.lulu.com/en/help/search

As for the storefronts, you're not the first to note the speed and additional desired functionality. I'll point your comments out to others who consider new features, but I can't make any promises that they'll adopt them.

Thanks.

Re: Lulu Release 2009.4.2

Hello Nick.

I am just now trundling up and down the forum reading and replying and although the forum moves at a reasonable speed (most of the time) if I click someone's name to look at their storefront it can take up to 2 mins before the window content appears! (Or to not appear at all!) Really! It is often the same on the Help pages.
From some of the things I read on the forums about people uploading to the wizards I get the idea that at times they also suffer from it at times working so slowly that the upload stalls of even times out (with no error message either.)
It really does need sorting out. :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Lulu Release 2009.4.2

Hello Nick,

would you please inform the Lulu Community when the new Customer Serivice software will function?

At the moment it looks like that communication of customers with Lulu is not possible.

Best regards from Germany

Max, thanks for the note. Is there any particular problem you're running in to? As much detail as you can provide about what you're trying to do and what happens would be helpful. Thanks.

Re: Lulu Release 2009.4.2

Dear Nick:

Here is a post just of mine posted on:

http://lulublog.com/2009/06/10/improvements-to-customer-service/

"Hoerberg, MaximilianPosted June 14, 2009 at 6:18 am00262901; 00262903

Four of my book-projects which have ISBN-numbers (PBY USA and PBY Germany) stand still since April because customer service does not function. More than 20 of my PBY Germany projects were suddenly interrupted by Lulu (only refund of fees), so I would have to transform them into PBL projects. For the two above-mentioned numbers there was no reaction, no confirmation of receipt.

Lulu-answers tell me, that the persons who answer seem to know nothing about PBY USA and PBY Germany.

All problems I have result therefrom that Lulu did not inform the customers that PBY Germany will be stopped and that Lulu will move in UK and US."

As far as I can see communication with Lulu seems to be out of function and the Lulu community-members (see just the above-mentioned link) seem to feel a lack of information from Lulu.

It would be highly appreciated to be informed, when Lulu Customer Service will begin to function again.

Thanking you in advance,
Max
