Writing a Foreword
I am currently writing a guidebook for retirement planning. Any tips out there about getting a prominent figure to write a foreword? Anybody know someone who might be interested? Thanks.
First, finish at least the first draft of your book.
Then make a short list of names of people whose words you think might contribute to the value of your book.
Then contact these people, describing the content and goal of your book, offering to send a copy of the manuscript if there is any interest. Always be polite.
I have been able to get forewords from people ranging from Arthur C. Clarke to Ray Bradbury by doing this.

Do consider, however, that the length of your front matter will affect the available portion in the preview of your book.
