Capitalization Requirements

I'm trying to update an EPUB project's metadata and keep getting this error message:

"This title does not meet Lulu's capitalization requirements. Click here to review these requirements."

The problem is that tyhe title DOES meet the requirements, and I can't move any further through the process. Any ideas anybody?

  • Why not post the title here so that someone can advise if it does, or does not, meet the requirements.

The General Rule for Titles is that the First Word and Major Words be Capitalized.

In light of the fact that the term "Major Words" is somewhat ambiguous, the alternative is to Capitalize Every Word Of The Title. "Major Words" usually means that if you read just the capitalized words, the meaning would come across. In my example above,

The Alternative Is To Capitalize Every Word.

It is not quite that straightforward. These words should only be capitalized if they are the first or last word of the title:

a, an, and, for, from, of, or, the, to
