Photo Book Prices & Specifications

The table below displays pricing and paper options for Photo Books, Cookbooks, and Poetry Books created on Lulu.com. These books must have a minimum of 20 pages. The Base Price below includes the first 20 pages + the binding fee. Photo books, Cookbooks, and Poetry Books use a higher quality paper and printing process, therefore each additional page beyond the first 20 costs $0.40, $0.50 or $1.00 per page depending on the page size.

The prices displayed below are in US Dollars. Click the following links for prices in Great Britain Pound Sterling, Euros, Canadian Dollars, or Australian Dollars


Select Size and Binding

To select your photo book size and binding:

  1. Choose Create & Photobook
  2. The Book Builder page opens.
  3. You can choose from the preformatted, full-color photo options or choose from the build-your-own options menu.
  4. Click Make this book to launch the Studio Wizard.
  5. Select your desired theme from those displayed in the pop-up window.
  6. Click Next, add images.

You can change the size and binding for your photo book at any time.

To change the binding size or type:

  1. From within your project, click the Size button in the menu bar.
  2. The Choose your size pop-up window displays.
  3. Click the icon for the size you want to use. You may choose from hardcover and paperback options.
  4. Click Apply Format.
    Note: All themes are not available for use in all book sizes.

How many pages can my photo book have?

Hardcovers must have at least 20 and not than 120 pages.

Paperbacks must have at least 20 and not more than 250 pages.

Why do photo books start with 20 pages included?

Since photo books must have at least 20 pages we get you started with this number of pages when you first create your book.

How many Images can my photo have?

While the Studio tool only limits the file size per image (10mb), if you use a large number of images in your photo book, errors can occur when making the print ready file.

Select or Change a Photo Book Theme

Lulu provides several photo book themes to get you started with your project. There will be times, though when you decide you want to try a different theme altogether.

To select a photo book theme:

  1. Choose Create & Photobook.
  2. The Book Builder page opens.
  3. You can choose any of our preformatted, full-color photo options or choose from the build-your-own options menu.
  4. Click Make this book to launch the Studio Wizard.
  5. Select your desired theme from those displayed in the pop-up window.
  6. Click Next, add images.

To change a photo book theme:

  1. Click the Themes icon in the menu bar at the top of the window.
  2. The Choose a theme pop-up displays.
  3. To preview a theme, click the Details button and a preview of the available layouts will appear.
  4. Click the Apply theme button to apply the new theme to your project.


Add a Title and Author

When you start working on your photo book, you may be unsure what you want to call it. The default book name is therefore set to My Photo Book.

If you search the Lulu Marketplace, however, you will find there are 300+ pages of photo books offered for sale with the "My Photo Book" title. To make your remarkable work stand out from the crowd, you should give it a unique title and give yourself credit for your efforts.

To enter title and author information

  1. From within the Photo Book Creation Wizard, click File in the top menu bar.
  2. Choose Edit title and author(s) from the resulting list.
  3. Complete the title and author fields.
  4. Choose whether to make your photo book public or restrict it to your own private access.
  5. Click Save.
  6. < /ol> To modify the title and author on your book's cover, click on the title and/or author box on the cover. Add a Table of Contents A Table of Contents is automatically generated using the text entered into any field that displays Click to add a chapter name, Click to add a title, or Click to add a recipe. Each time a chapter, title, or recipe name is added, the table of contents page is updated. Add Multiple Authors You can give credit to everyone who contributed in the creation of your remarkable work. To add multiple authors to your photo book project:
    1. From within the Photo Book Creation Wizard, click File in the menu bar.
    2. Choose Edit title and author(s) from the resulting list.
    3. Complete or edit the title and author fields.
    4. Click the green plus (+) symbol to add another author.
    5. Click the red X to remove an author from your project.
    6. Click Save.
