At this time, we're investigating the problem and looking for a solution.

If you've encountered this issue while converting your file, we suggest attempting to create and upload an EPUB directly to our system.

While there are a number of EPUB conversion options, Calibre (Download Here) has shown the best results for creating an EPUB for the Lulu system. Please review their extensive Help resources (Found Here) to create an EPUB 2 that our system can validate.

What are Thank You Notes?

Thank You Notes are Lulu's way of allowing you, the creator, to send your customers a personal note and make it possible for them to contact you by email, while ensuring that their personal information remains private.

Your Thank You Note contains a message that you write. Lulu emails it to people who buy your item and who have agreed to receive Thank You Notes. The same note goes to everyone who buys your content, even Direct Access materials, regardless of the type of content you sell. (If you have diverse content, you may consider writing a very general Thank You Note.)

To create or modify your Thank You Note:

  1. Log into your Lulu.com account
  2. Go to My Projects > Edit Thank You Note in the left column.
  3. Enter the name, email address, and message you want to send. (The content of your Thank You Note must comply with Lulu's Membership Agreement.)
  4. Click Save or Save & Preview.
  5. If you choose to preview your thank you note, the system will send a test thank you note to you by email.

Note: By entering information in your Thank You Note section, you agree to allow Lulu to send this information to everyone who buys your content. Keep in mind that if you use a pen name on your content, you will probably want to use the pen name on your Thank You Note as well.

All thank you notes will show your name as the sender and have A Lulu Thank You Note as the subject.

How do I compose a Thank You Note?

Create or edit your Thank You Note at the Thank You Notes Editor. (From your My Projects tab, click the Edit Thank You Note link in the Creator Tools section of the left navigation column.)

Note: Your Thank You Note content must comply with the Lulu Membership Agreement. By entering information in your Thank You Note section, you agree to permit Lulu to send this information to all purchasers of your content. Keep in mind that if you use a pen name on your content, you will probably want to use the pen name on your Thank You Note as well.

  1. In the web form, type the name, email address, and message you would like to send to your customers.
  2. Click the Save button or the Save & Preview Button. If you chose to preview, a test thank you note will be e-mailed to you.

Lulu emails your Thank You Note to anyone who buys your content from Lulu. All thank you notes show your name as the sender and have "A Lulu Thank You Note" as the subject.

Can I send different Thank You Notes for different products?

No. Thank You Notes are like storefronts in that each creator is allowed only one per account. If you enable your Thank You Note, the same note will be sent to the buyers of all your content, even the content marked Direct Access. If you have diverse content available for sale in a single account (for example, a software manual, a coloring book, and a family calendar) the same Thank You Note will be sent upon purchase of each item. If this is your situation, consider writing a very general Thank You Note message.
