Need suggestions about book name

I have just finished my book.

The abstract of the Book

This book is the true record of seventy years of modern history in rural areas of Eastern Shandong Peninsula from 1930s to 2000, including the Anti-Japanese War (1938-1945), China’s War of Liberation (1945-1949), the development of China after liberation (1950-1957), the Great Leap Forward Movement (1958-1959), the Three-year Disaster (1960-1962), the Socialist Education Movement, the Great Cultural Revolution (1966-1976), and the reform and opening up of China (1978-2000).

This work, with the spirits of unvarnished realism and true-life style, illustrates actual life and inner mind of an ordinary man in rural area, and through his eyes to see the significant changes of China during the past seventy years. This book restores the true life stories with fair view, which might be a little different from the propaganda from media and government in those days.

I wish some suggestions about the name of the book.

I have following choices, please advice which one is the best.

  1. The Distant Field - The Struggles of an Ordinary Rural Man in China, 1930 to 2000

2. WARS, STRUGGLES AND REFORMS (China 1930 to 2000)

The Turbulent History of China Through a Farmer’s Eyes from 1930 to 2000.

3. The Struggles of an Ordinary Man in Rural China 1930 to 2000

The Turbulent History of China Through a Farmer’s Eyes

4. Seventy Years in China - Rural Man’s Struggles 1930 to 2000

The Turbulent History of China Through a Farmer’s Eyes.

Comments

  • I like the clearest, most straightforward:

    2. WARS, STRUGGLES AND REFORMS (China 1930 to 2000)

The Turbulent History of China Through a Farmer’s Eyes from 1930 to 2000.

     A citizen of the world.

  • Rather, omit the date repetition:

    2. WARS, STRUGGLES AND REFORMS (China 1930 to 2000)

The Turbulent History of China Through a Farmer’s Eyes

     A citizen of the world.

The Turbulent History of China Through a Farmer’s Eyes.

    hi there

    the first one sounds catchy

    1. The Distant Field - The Struggles of an Ordinary Rural Man in China, 1930 to 2000

I like that, there others are too long, I think

  • I would lean towards the fourth -- Seventy years in China  suggests a broadspanning theme.

  • It worked for Seven Years in Tibet.

  • Or Two Years Before the Mast.

  • Yes, I think this one is best:

    4. Seventy Years in China - Rural Man’s Struggles 1930 to 2000

The Turbulent History of China Through a Farmer’s Eyes.

Omit "Rural Man's Struggles" and take out the period after Eyes

                             Seventy Years in China

                                    1930-2000:

       A Turbulent History Through a Farmer's Eyes

  • The Struggles of an Ordinary Rural Man in China

    From 1930 to 2000

I like that, it says it all.

May I ask where you live?

How Do. Pull up a chair. Would you like a cup of tea? Don't sit in that chair!!

I like it, too, but it may say a little too much. How about

The Struggles of an Ordinary Man in China

    From 1930 to 2000

    or

The Struggles of a Rural Man in China

    From 1930 to 2000

  • I think the words rural and ordinary are important together, or it could mean an ordinary man in the city, or a mayor in the country.

PS: I asked where she is from because if she lives in China they may not take kindly to the subject.

I've reviewed Soleilmavis' book, The Queen of the South in Matthew 12:42 after Soleilmavis sent me a free PDF of her book and kindly asked me to write a review of her title.  My reviews of her book can be found both on Amazon and on Lulu so I hope you find the book as intriguing to read as I have done.
